In her last official address as co-leader of the Māori Party, Tariana Turia promised that she would continue to champion the cause that is deepest in her heart – whanau ora. She likes the messages of E Tū Whānau because it is all about tikanga, “Tikanga, in its truest sense of the word, doing what is right,” she said.
Tariana Turia calls on every one of us to “work with our whānau to never, ever allow anyone to dimish the mana of another by means of verbal, emotional, psychological, sexual, physical, financial, cultural violence of any form”.
She was keynote speaker at the Women’s Refuge conference dinner 2014.
